Dr. Bennett “Buddy” Sherman, 94, beloved husband and best friend of the late Dolores “Dee” nee Markin for 70 incredible years; cherished and devoted father of Gail (Dr. Ralph) Robbins, Dr. Richard (Cheryl) Sherman and the late Linda Tasner Reiter; proud and loving Grandpa Buddy of David (Sydney) Tasner, Lauren Tasner, Amy (Scott) Zemnick, Julie (Michael) Schimmel, Mark (Elizabeth) Robbins, Lindsey (Scott) Kornblatt, Jennifer Sherman and Adam Sherman and great grandfather of Alex, Bennett, Samantha, Andrew, Jacob, Olivia, Samuel, Sydney, Zoe and Leo; dear brother of Audrey Levine and brother-in-law of Howard (Sandy) Markin; cherished uncle of many loving nieces and nephews; adored cousin and friend of many. He was a revered pediatrician on the North Shore for over 50 years. Chapel service, Thursday, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. We all had Dr. Sherman as our pediatrician. I have fond memories. I grew up overweight and never got a Butter Cookie. Later in life I lost a lot of weight and went to visit him. He was so happy to see me and I collected the Butter Cookies I missed out on. He was so good to our family. I was so honored to attend his retirement party! He will never be forgotten!

We were so blessed to have Dr. Sherman in our lives for over 30 years. He really was a part of our lives and was present at some of our special moments, like our 25th wedding anniversary party, Selena and Joe’s graduation party, and Joe’s college art exhibit. He was not only our beloved pediatrician but also our dear friend. He was like family to us and we will truly miss him. He and Mrs. Sherman were both so special and we take comfort in knowing they are together for eternity.
